Terms of Service

Last updated: July 9, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of LegacyLens (the "Service"), a client-information organization platform used by independent insurance agents and their clients. By creating an account or submitting information through the Service, you agree to these Terms. This is a starting draft — the agency that provided your access is the "Agency" responsible for finalizing this document with counsel before launch.

1. What LegacyLens does — and doesn't do

LegacyLens is an information-gathering and organization tool. It helps you record household, financial, insurance, and health information in one place so your agent can better understand your situation. LegacyLens does not sell insurance, provide legal advice, tax advice, investment advice, or medical advice. Any coverage recommendations you see are directional and must be reviewed with a licensed agent before purchase.

2. Accounts and eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a contract. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for keeping your login credentials secure. If a spouse or household member completes their portion via an invite link, they agree to these Terms upon submission.

3. How your information is used

Information you submit is shared with the Agency that invited you and the licensed agent(s) assigned to you. The Agency uses that information to prepare for meetings with you, to identify potential coverage gaps, and to communicate with you about their services. Full details are in the Privacy Policy.

4. Health information

LegacyLens is not a covered entity under HIPAA. The health information you provide is used only to inform insurance recommendations and is treated with the same standard of care as your other sensitive data. Do not submit information you are not comfortable sharing with your agent.

5. Deleting your checklist

You may delete your checklist at any time from your portal. Deletion is immediate and removes all household, financial, insurance, and health records associated with your account from LegacyLens. Copies your agent has already exported (for example, PDF summaries saved to their own systems) are not reachable by LegacyLens and remain governed by the Agency's own retention policies.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to (a) submit information about anyone without their knowledge, (b) attempt to access another user's data, (c) probe, scan, or interfere with the Service, or (d) use the Service in violation of any law.

7. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, LegacyLens and the Agency are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

8. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or through the portal. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

9. Contact

Questions about these Terms should be sent to the Agency that invited you. Your agent's contact information is available in your client portal.

This document is a draft prepared for editing. Have it reviewed by counsel licensed in your state before publishing.
